Tus amigos nunca te harían daño es una obra divertida y reflexiva.  Un grupo de amigos se reúne para despedirse de uno de ellos, que quiere dedicarse al sacerdocio.  Sexo, vocación, drogas, amistad, y otros temas se ponen en juego con humor y franqueza en esta comedia de enredos.  Con la participación estelar de María del Pilar Anguiano, Loreto Campos, Gilbert Orgel, Manny Ríos, Albert Smith, y Concepción Villareal.  Se presentará en español con sobretítulos en inglésNo apta para menores.

ABOUT; Two women. One man. Gabriela, a translator, and Marlene, a hair stylist, meet in a prison waiting area. After they engage in a casual, friendly conversation they discover that they are there to visit the same man. Laugh with this irreverent comedy and find out how these two women face adversity and find themselves in hysterical situations as they join forces to fundraise the amount of money required to bail out the man they both love. This staging features performances by Iriany Sanchez and Gladys Ramos. A Rose By Any Other Name will be presented in Spanish with English supertitles.

ABOUT: Mother-in-law and grandmother, Doña Pancha, yearns to return to her beloved México City where as a child she dreamed of being close to her idol Pedro Infante. She lives with her daughter Chayo, son-in-law Joel, and granddaughter Andrea whose boyfriend has gone missing. Doña Pancha’s family keep a close eye on her to prevent her from doing something crazy, according to them, like returning to her beloved México. Neighbor Melanie adds spice to the comedy as she flirts with Joel, Doña Pancha’s son-in-law. The music swells when Pedro Infante pays Doña Pancha a visit and addresses her yearning while helping her endure the vicissitudes of the American Dream. In Spanish with English supertitles.

Local actors Patricia Casiano as Doña Pancha, Juan González as Pedro Infante, Adah Chávez as Chayo, Alfredo Quezada as Joel, Sami Anguiano as Andrea y Katherine Miller as Melanie bring this play to life.

ABOUT: Teatro de las Américas and Oxnard College continue their 2015 Season of Concert-Dinners with BELLISSIMA ITALIA. In this second edition enjoy a gourmet dinner from the Italian gastronomic tradition prepared by students from the Culinary Arts Program at Oxnard College. After dinner, MusicaLatitudes, a local band, will entertain us with a repertoire of songs by internationally known Italian composers of popular music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Proceeds will benefit Teatro de las Américas.

ABOUT: Don García, a seventeenth-century law student, returns to Madrid at the request of his father who is anguished to find out his son is a compulsive liar. Don Beltrán tries to get his son to marry before the truth about his son’s glaring fault comes to light. While his father is trying to find a suitable lady for him, Don García finds one on his own, a certain “Lucrecia,” or is it a certain Jacinta? You’ll have a hard time keeping a straight face as you listen to Don García’s unending repertoire of far-fetched tales in this unbelievable theatrical gem from Spain’s Golden Age, filled with multiple twists and turns and mix-ups told in perfect rhyming verse.
